In 1991, the Evoluzione version arrived, with widened bodywork, a greater track width, and chassis upgrades for homologation. But it was in June 1993 that the definitive version was born: the Evoluzione II.
Under the hood, a 2.0-liter, 16-valve turbocharged engine with sequential multipoint injection and a water-cooled Garrett turbo delivered 215 HP at 5,750 rpm. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds and reaching 220 km/h, it could instantly turn any driver into Miki Biasion or Juha Kankkunen.
